The90 Day Fiancéuniverse is expanding — all the way to the Caribbean.
OnLove in Paradise: The Caribbean, A 90 Day Story, premiering on discovery+ July 18, four couples who met on various tropical islands — Costa Rica, Barbados, Panama and Jamaica — must figure out if their love is truly made to last.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the new series, Miami-based Martine and her boyfriend Steven, a DJ in Barbados, head out for a romantic dinner that quickly goes south.
“Steven knows what I like, he knows how to spoil me and I appreciate all the effort that he’s putting in,” Martine says at the start of the clip. “This gives me hope that we’re on the same page and we want the same thing from our relationship.”
After the pair exchanges sweet “I love yous,” the waitress comes over to serve their drinks and recognizes Steven from one of his DJ gigs.
“You’re that guy that was at the party, like, last week, right?” she says to Steven, who replies, “Yeah, I’m that guy.”
“I love you!” the waitress adds before walking away.
Steven seems to think nothing of it, but Martine interprets the moment as flirting.
“Everywhere you go, somebody’s always on your case, ‘Oh you’re that DJ, I saw you at the show!'” she says. “You didn’t see the way she sounded?”
“She was normal,” Steven says, though Martine notes, “You wouldn’t like that if it were me.”
“I’m sitting right in front of him and a waitress is just flirting with him in my face,” she adds to the cameras. “I would never go up to a man, especially when he’s with his girlfriend. Girl, what are you doing?”
Though Steven says Martine is “making a big deal out of nothing,” and tells her “it’s just a part of the job,” she says the behavior brings up old wounds.
“I don’t think that you understand that my piece of mind is disturbed a lot,” she says. “There were times we went to parties together and girls were like, ‘Can I take a picture with you?'”
“What’s wrong with that?” he asks, as she responds, “They don’t give a f— if I’m there or not!”
“Ever since I discovered that he cheated on me, I have trouble trusting Steven because if you were able to fool me once, who’s to say you’re not going to hurt my feelings again?” she says in a confessional as the clip comes to a close.
