Some brides take months to find their perfect wedding dress, but forMichele, she knew she found the perfect one the second she saw it.

“I get chills when I think about Monique, and how much I love her,” Michele exclusively tells PEOPLE about the designer. “I’d seen a dress on [the brand’s] Instagram from the Spring 2019 collection —The Luna— and I was like, ‘That’s my wedding dress.'”

Michele says she gravitated towards the classic princess-style shape because it withstands trends and fashion fads. “My dress is very classic, which was very important to me. It’s important to [Zandy and me] that we look back on our photos, and that they’re classic. I wanted to stay away from a lot of current trends.”

“Monique is so beautiful, and so talented and she let me try on every single dress,” Michele says of the designer whom she wears regularly on the red carpet. “But the last one I tried on was that one that I saw online and I absolutely loved it. In the entire wedding process, that was one of my most favorite moments, being at that fitting with Brad, and with my mom, and letting my mom see me wearing my wedding dress for the first time was so magical.”

“Once she put it on, we knew. Joyful tears followed,” Lhuillier tells PEOPLE about the fitting.

“Working with Lea was an absolute dream,” Lhuillier tells PEOPLE. “I’ve had the pleasure of dressing her through the years, so when she asked me to design her wedding gown I was truly honored. Lea is a fashion girl and knows what works on her. She came with a vision and together we made it a reality.”
