Jimmy Fallonis getting ready to turn 50!

“It’s my new thing,” he explained. “I don’t have time during the day to work out or anything, so you have to just make time.”

Although Fallon’s birthday isn’t till September, he’s adopted the habit of waking up early with the help of aHatch alarm clock.

“Yes, it’s like a fake light that kind of becomes a sunrise,” he told hostsHoda KotbandJenna Bush Hager.

“I don’t know if my wife enjoys it, but the whole room lights up. By the end, it’s like a police officer shining a flashlight into your eyes,” continued Fallon. “You’re like, ‘Ahh license and registration!’ That’s how you wake up in the morning.”

TheTonight Showhost said he then goes to his treadmill, “which is covered in clothes.”

“And then you look at it and go, ‘Oh, that’s interesting,’ " he quipped. Kotb, 59, and Bush Hagger, 42, couldn’t help but ask, “What’s going on?” after Fallon said that his morning routine also includes taking his blood pressure.

The late-night talk show host laughed and said, “Is it a midlife crisis? I think it’s what you do when you’re almost 50.” Kotb, who turns 60 in August, offered some words of encouragement.

“By the way, Jimmy, I’m just here to tell you, 50? That whole decade? Is going to be the best decade of your life,” she said.

“Let me tell you something; these decades, I’m so shocked,” Kotb later added. “If somebody would have told me my 50s were going to be my favorite decade? I’m dying for my 60s. Everybody I’m meeting is, they’re on fire.”

After Fallon said he enjoyed being in his 40s, Bush Hagger agreed, causing Kotb to joke, “Forget about it; it’s over.”

“So my 10 years at theTonight Showmean nothing,” quipped Fallon. “[It] means nothing! I’m restarting!”
