When I say “ Harvey Danger ” I ’ll count your mind immediately jumps to “ Flagpole Sitta . ” Stop that . While not a speculative song , it ’s not their finest work . “ Sad Sweetheart of The Rodeo ” is leap and leaping above .
Off their album King James Version — which I must confess I have not heard in its totality — this song has everything you need from a solid daddy strain : a guitar Riffian that ’s uncomplicated but gets the job done , lyric poem that are both cagey and a little bizarre , and most importantly , a chorus with a crooning falsetto hook . It ’s all there . Do n’t get me incorrect , I make love me some “ Flagpole Sitta ” in my day . But this , this is the Song dynasty I wish well I ’d fall in love with way back when .
PS : The quality is a fleck rough , but the video is so worth watch over . take care at that old school office ! [ Amazon , iTunes , Spotify ]
