On the 2024 SAG Awardsred carpeton Saturday, Powell, 35, toldVarietythat both he and Sweeney, 26, are reading scripts to find a new movie to make together after their romantic comedyAnyone But Youproved a box office success following its December release.
“When you find somebody that you really jive with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us all the scripts you got," Powell told the outlet. “You know we’re here for it.”
Powell and Sydney played enemies-turned-lovers at a wedding inAnyone But Youand have remainedhighly complimentary of each othersincefilming the movie in Australiain spring 2023. While the filmopened to just $6 millionat the domestic box office in December, it has since gone on to gross $87 million in the U.S. and has made $191.2 million worldwide.

The pair recently made an appearance together at the2024 People’s Choice Awards, where they sangNatasha Bedingfield’s song “Unwritten” — which appears inAnyone But You —with Bedingield, 42, onstage.
Anyone But Youwas nominated forthe comedy movie of the year (Barbiewon), and both Sweeney and Powell were recognized in the the comedy movie star of the year category (Jennifer Lawrence won forNo Hard Feelings) at that ceremony.

While Powell and Sweeney search for another movie make together, theTop Gun: Maverickstar turns his attention to promoting two major upcoming projects set for release this spring and summer with the upcomingHit Man, set to begin streaming on Netflix in June, andTwisters, set for release in July.

“[I] met with Lee Isaac Chung and met with Daisy Edgar-Jones and had a great chemistry with Daisy and she’s sensational and we just have such a great vibe in this movie,” Powell toldVarietyofTwisters— a spiritual sequel to 1996’sTwister— ahead of the SAG Awards. “The movie, just the texture of it, the fun of it, the world, it’s going to be a ride. It’s really good. It’s nuts.”
