After years of back and forward , the George Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts has found its future home : Los Angeles .
This comes after Chicago call on down the $ 1 billion proposed project last year . Los Angeles and San Francisco both then purpose web site , but ultimately , the director chose Los Angeles .
The George Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts will be located aright next to Lucas ’ alma mater , the University of Southern California , in Exposition Park . Lucas himself will fund the museum out of pouch and fill up it with his own personal art accumulation , which includes famous paintings , film artifacts , and a whole lot of one - of - a - form Star Wars poppycock .

According to a statement , Lucas is say to have chosen Los Angeles because the museum will “ have the greatest impingement on the broader community , fulfilling our destination of inspiring , engaging and educating a across-the-board and diverse visitorship . ”
