Sailor Venus make her rarefied début on Sailor Moon Crystal ! unluckily , everyone is so astonied by Minako ’s awesome amazingness that they kind of forgot to take a plot with them this workweek . But at least we have all of the Sailor Senshi together , at last .
Seriously , I ’m somewhat certainly this entire episode could be recapitulate by this image :
A good clump of this episode was just citizenry pull this look , react to a bunch of things – mainly to our latest Senshi , Minako , who is in all probability the best part of the installment . As such , it feel like a pregnant pause in SMC ’s level , but despite some weird tempo subject , it was still a decent instalment .
We break up up where we left off last week , with Minako enter herself to the squad – and that she ’s not just Sailor V , but also Princess Serenity herself ! Everyone is so amazed by this that they give Zoisite enough time to teleport off without anyone really noticing him . I think of come in on guy , we were all excited for Minako but pay some attention ! Tuxedo Mask also decides to peg it , but for a different reason – he feels like he ’s allow Usagi down by being unable to protect her from Zoisite ’s attack . Poor bozo .
Minako transmute into her human persona and reintroduces herself , and then fundamentally info dumps while everyone is dumbstruck at how amazing she is . This is pretty much a good third of the episode , and while it serve as a reminder of the Senshi ’s focus now they ’re all together – halt the Dark Kingdom , protect Earth , rebuild Silver Millenium – it ’s kind of a slam a monumental brake on the tempo the series had build up to in the last few episodes , which is a shame . But most significantly , it gives us time to have some good insight on Minako ’s persona , her confidence but also her unrelenting devotion to her mission , which had been a for the most part lonely function before now – something that she wants to preserve , considering she settle against telling the rest of the squad where the Legendary Silver Crystal is , or the real impetus of her mission , despite their willingness to help her .
Usagi arouse the following day from another ambition , this one a petty clearer , and she in conclusion starts to question if she ’s Princess Serenity , not Minako , even sussing out that Minako ’s hiding something from the relief of the mathematical group . It ’s dainty to see Usagi place things together by herself instead of other character reference just infodumping it on her , but alas , nothing comes of it for now – but she does get to bump into Mamoru again on the mode to School , while he ’s doing some not - subtle - at - all research on crystals . The hombre is watch glass - crazy ! At least he decides to apologize in person for not saving her from Zoisite this time , instead of running off . Usagi try out to give back his humiliated lookout , but Mamoru declines , saying that he can trade it with her the next time they get together for an item of hers that he has , much to her delight ( not really to ours though , as he ’s speak about that hankey of hers that he was creepily huff on last week . Eeew . ) .
Meanwhile in the Dark Kingdom , Queen Beryl decides that peradventure this installment should pluck up the rate a bit with an actual game ! Stinging from their latest defeat , this time Kunzite steps in to proffer his villainous service of process – and for once , he just gets down to business instantly . There ’s something to be say for a spoilt guy with a sense of instancy . No giddy camouflage , no hidden program , nothing ! Kunzite just decides to freeze Tokyo for a moment and call out Minako in person to confront him , an offer she readily accept , even shirking the rest of the Senshi to go face him on her own ( something I ’m sure wo n’t amount back to bite her in the keister in a few minutes ) .
Unwilling to wait even a moment for Minako whilst he hangs out in his floaty - place - magical - ball - affair , Kunzite impatiently decides to engulf Tokyo in a blackout and conveniently run out the energy of most nearby humans . Like I said , he dumbfound shit done ! Minako arrives and transforms into Sailor Venus . Whilst Crystal has n’t really had the greatest life lineament , one matter that has catch good has been the transformation succession – and although it ’s still CGI - enhanced and thus a little weird looking for , her shift might be the best of the Senshi . Hooray !
The plot in the end decides to ramp up ( of course of instruction it does when there ’s only 6 moment of the episode left , what skillful metre to start ! ) as Venus does struggle with Kunzite , before realize that she ca n’t beat up him on her own – told you that would come back to bite her in the ass . Interestingly she makes a plea to Kunzite to commend his ‘ true ego ’ , which almost sways him before Queen Beryl psychically interrupts to remind him he ’s a bad guy wire . It looks like Crystal is go to finally start suggest at and search the Shittenou ’s backstory after spending the series so far deliberately not killing them off like they were in the Manga . But for now , crusade metre !
Luckily Makoto has a floaty - space - wizardly - testicle - affair of her own , and the rest of the Senshi arrive to make unnecessary the day , and cue Minako that she no longer has to be alone . It ’s not a prospect from the manga , but it ’s a lovely one that shows the strength of the Senshi ’s teamwork – and more significantly , remind us that it ’s the one affair that Usagi is systematically secure at , making friends with citizenry and bringing out the skilful in those around her . It ’s overnice to see the gum anime reminding us about that instead of just show her a bit of a jackass – and then we get to see that friendly relationship in action as the team cark Kunzite long enough for Usagi to rip of a Moon Healing Escalation . lurid TWIST : Kunzite dodges it and blasts Usagi with an blast , leave her to get it to her end ! Who could possibly save her ?
Oh wait , it ’s Tuxedo Mask . Of course it is !
Mamoru has set about his ‘ show up to save the day only when absolutely necessary ’ schtick down to a fine artistry , spring through the air to make unnecessary Usagi , who reward him with a buss for his trouble ( at last ! ) . SMC has been a morsel clumsy when it ’s come to depicting Mamoru and Usagi ’s relationship at times , but this was in reality a really courteous present moment – and it feel earned , a consequence of emotion not really out of warmth or desire but almost exhilaration for him saving her . It was gracious to see their first ‘ right ’ kiss handled so well ( peculiarly in the light of that oddly creepy-crawly osculation they had in Act 4 which is best forgotten about ) .
Happiness does n’t last long however , as Kunzite educate another attack for Sailor Moon , and this time Tuxedo Mask decide he ’s not go to neglect to protect her this metre – and protect her he does , claim the hit intended for Usagi . Dun dun dun , cliffhanger ! Is this the end of Tuxedo Mask ! ? Err , no , think the Next Time trailer prove him being save by Usagi . A bit of moistener on your cliffhanger there , Toei .
A bit of a rushed sequence in all , but hopefully now that all the Senshi are inclose and part of the team , Sailor Moon Crystal can pick up the stride a niggling . We ’ll just have to wait another 2 weeks and see if that ’s the subject …
