TikTok exploiter Ava Williams ( who goes by @avawillyums on the platform ) claimed ownership of the movement onTwitter . Williams toldNewsweekin an consultation :
I was inspired to make the video after watching The French Dispatch with my parents the night before . I was going back to New York after a very short sojourn with my family and I was sad that I was leaving so soon . I did n’t want to really end my tripper on such a sad notation so I was hope to make the most out of a situation that was n’t totally ideal .
